Ask any succesful business man about his success, and chances are you will find him mention a key business mentor that guided him.
In fact, I ascribe a large portion of my success to an older jewish gentlement, who thoroughly taught me the fundamentals of business and money, without which my thinking would have not broken out of the box, and I would not have mastered the art of money getting (The phrase invented by PT Barnum).
How to Choose a Business Mentor
How succesful is the business mentor? Has he built any multi-million rand businesses in South Africa? (I've built 3 in the last 10 years). Has he acted on boards, managed people or projects for some of SA's largest JSE listed companies? I suggest looking at the profile of any prospective business coach. Iron sharpens iron. A coach that is less knowledgeable or weak, is just going to send you in all the wrong directions, or simply reflect back to you what you already know.
The right business mentor can take you to the success you want, and help you make all the right moves to get you there, along the path of least resistance.
